LA SAINT CÔME ET SAINT DAMIEN
They are the patron saints of Argelès-sur-mer and the town celebrates them at the end of September every year.
The legend tells that Argelès was affected by a plague epidemic in the 17th century.
It ended on the day of the feast of the patron saints – on 27 September 1652 – and the population made a vow to carry out a solemn procession to honour them every year...
Today, Saint-Côme & Saint-Damien is a really popular fête with balls, entertainments, "gegants" parade, "Castellers", sardanas, and exhibitions.
